Flights to Toronto Pearson Airport
The only airport in the world to be immortalized in an instrumental progressive rock song, Toronto Pearson International Airport has several other unique distinctions. Pearson is one of the major airports within the massive urban sprawl known as the Golden Horseshoe, an area that stretches east to west between the cities of Toronto and Montreal. YYZ also serves a large the population just south of the border in heavily populated areas of Michigan and New York state. No other airport on the continent handles more traffic, with the exception of JFK in New York. Pearson also serves an important role in a domestic capacity, as virtually all of the airline traffic throughout Canada is routed through this location.
Pearson is an airport with equal amounts of friendly local Canadian charm and worldly shopping and amenities. Like Neil Peart of Rush said, "It is always a happy day when YYZ appears on our luggage tags."

In colder months, connecting passengers might want to check the weather before booking. Pearson (YYZ) itself is well-equipped to handle almost anything an Ontario winter can muster, but smaller Canadian airports often do not have the same capabilities. Luckily, the builders and architects of YYZ took this into account and thus has it has the facilities to make long layovers as comfortable as possible.

Airport Facilities
Interfaith terminals and coat and baggage storage can be found in Terminals 1 and 3, and free WiFi is available throughout the airport. Terminal 1 and 3 is where you find amenities, shopping, and banking. The upscale lounges, which include television, hot food and beverage services, are located in Terminal 1 by gate E77 and in terminal 3 just past gate B24.
What to expect when arriving at Pearson International
One strange thing upon arrival is the apparent lack of a Terminal 2. During the expansion of Terminal 1, what is now known as the Infield Terminal was built to handle the traffic displaced by the construction. Technically, this is Pearson Terminal 2, but now it is more of a spare terminal only used to handle overflow or seasonal traffic. If you are flying with a Star Alliance airline, your flight will arrive or leave from Terminal 1. Terminal 3 handles Oneworld and SkyTeam affiliates and is connected to the Sheraton Hotel.
