Azul Airlines flights & tickets

Azul Brazilian Airlines is a top choice airline for people travelling across Brazil. This low-cost carrier was established in 2008 and has since grown to include a fleet of 125 aircraft flying to over a hundred destinations. The airline flies to well-known Brazilian cities like São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, as well as to smaller areas around the country.

Though most Azul Airlines flight destinations are in Brazil, they also operate flights to select cities in places like Argentina, the United States and Portugal. The airline also has interline and codeshare agreements with ten different airlines, including JetBlue Airways and Lufthansa, allowing for more flight route flexibility.

Why Fly Azul Brazilian Airlines

How to Check-in

For flights within Brazil, you can check in four ways: online, via their mobile app, at a self-service airport kiosk, or at a staffed airport counter. Online and mobile check-in opens 72 hours before your flight. Domestic passengers must check in at least one hour before departure.

International passengers must check in in person at a staffed service counter. You must be fully checked in at least two hours before your flight departure.

Baggage Allowances and Fees

Azul Airlines carry-on luggage cannot exceed 5kgs in weight and must be able to be stored safely in the cabin. Generally, you are allowed three pieces of checked luggage with total weight no more than 23kgs. However, Azul Airlines baggage allowances may differ based on your fare type, your destination, and whether you are flying on a codeshare flight operated by another airline.

If you require additional checked baggage, you can prepay via Azul Airline's website or through their customer service line. Prepaying extra baggage fees instead of paying at the airport can save you up to 50%.

Seating

With Azul Airlines, you will be able to select a standard seat in advance for no extra charge. If you would like a special seat with extra leg room, you will need to pay an upgrade fee. Seat upgrades are not available online, so you will need to call the customer service hotline, or upgrade to a premium seat at the airport. If desired, Azul Airlines will also allow you to purchase a second seat for extra space and privacy.

Booking and Fees

Azul Airlines tickets can be purchased online or over the phone using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Universal Air Travel Plan) or using SafetyPay online debit. If you need to cancel or change a reservation, expect to pay around $230 CAD.

Service on Board

Azul Airlines offers a variety of complimentary snacks on board, like cookies, chips and peanuts. Water, coffee, juice and soft drinks are also available for free. Full meals and alcoholic beverages can be purchased at an additional cost.

Other amenities available on board include things like blankets, pillows and earplugs.

TudoAzul

TudoAzul is Azul Airline's membership program. Passengers earn points for flying with the airline that can be redeemed for various rewards. Unfortunately, the program is currently only open to Brazilian citizens as the sign-up process requires a Brazilian ID card (RG) and taxpayer ID (CPF).
