For long haul flights, spacious Boeing 747s, 767s, and 787s are the aircraft of choice, with an increased array of dining and entertainment features. In 2016, the airline also acquired the Boeing 778 Dreamliner, a unique addition for long haul flights that features a more comfortable cabin and increased fuel efficiency in line with the company’s ecological efforts.

Why Fly With Royal Air Maroc

Safar Flyer Loyalty Program and Rewards

Before booking your flight, join Safar Flyer, Royal Air Maroc’s three-tiered loyalty program that allows you to earn miles on your travel and hospitality purchases. Begin by creating an online account, and receive the welcome bonus of 4,000 miles. From there, continue to earn miles on each flight to advance through the blue, silver, and gold rewards levels.

Safar Flyer miles can be converted to award tickets, upgrades to luxurious business class seats, excess luggage passes, and ticket change fees for pre-purchased flights. The extensive loyalty program also includes the option to combine the points of family members into one account, allowing you to earn miles and awards more quickly.

In addition to earning rewards through direct booking with Royal Air Maroc, Safar Flyer also allows you to earn through the services of partner companies. Airline partners include Iberia, Qatar, and Etihad Airways, while benefits can also be earned and redeemed through non-airline partners in the hotel and car rental industries.

Check In, Online Registration, and Seat Assignment

Royal Air Maroc offers the option to check in online or in-person at the airport, with an exclusive check-in desk for priority flyers travelling in business class. Priority desks are also open to those members of the Safar Flyer program who have earned silver or gold tier status.

Once you have checked in, you have sixty minutes before the departure of your flight in which to proceed to the boarding area. For international flights, two hours is recommended, while three to four hours is best for long-haul flights or journeys booked during peak holiday periods. Boarding gates for all flights will close fifteen minutes prior to the departure of your flight.

Online check-in is available forty-eight hours before your flight, and closes two hours prior to departure. Seat selection is available through a cabin map in the online service, and boarding passes can be printed at home after checking in online. Virtual check in is currently only available from a select number of departure airports. These include all Moroccan stopovers, multiple European destinations, New York, and Washington, but do not include any Canadian airports.

Baggage Allowance, Excess Cargo, and Service Fees

One piece of carry-on baggage is allowed in the cabin, weighing up to 10 kg. The sum total of the height, width, and length must not exceed 115 cm. You may also bring a laptop, which is not considered hand baggage.

Liquids and gels under 100mL are permitted in carry-on as long as they are contained within the transparent plastic bag available at the airport. Liquid medications that exceed this limit are accepted with a valid prescription that includes your name.

If you are travelling from the USA or Canada, an economy ticket with Royal Air Maroc includes two pieces of checked baggage weighing up to 23 kg apiece, or three pieces for those travelling in business class. Each additional piece of 23 kg luggage includes a $160 fee, with another $50 for overweight charges. If you qualify as a reduced mobility passenger, you are also entitled to the transport of a wheelchair or walker free of charge.

Royal Air Maroc charges service fees for booking. When reserving a ticket over the phone, a $20 fee applies for flights from Canada to Morocco and other destinations.

Royal Air Maroc In-Flight Dining and Entertainment

On flights lasting less than two and a half hours, Royal Air Maroc provides you a selection of hot and cold beverages. On longer flights, a complimentary meal will be served.

Children under the age of twelve, when accompanied by an adult, receive a reduced ticket price that is dependent upon your destination. Unaccompanied children under twelve require the assistance of a Royal Air Maroc guardian to travel, and are entitled to priority boarding.

For all children, Royal Air Maroc offers the Magical Universe to ensure a fun and comfortable flight. This includes a selection of toys, games, and specialized children’s programming for you and your family to enjoy.
