A member of Star Alliance, the airline is a subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group. It is a member of the Miles & More loyalty scheme. The full-service airline offers good in-flight features and comfort, and the company’s tagline is “the charming way to fly”.

Why Fly With Austrian Airlines

Check In

Austrian Airlines offers a variety of convenient check-in options. You can check in online or through the Austrian Airlines app for most flights; remote check-in is typically available 47 hours before the flight up to one hour before the departure time. You can also check in at the airport, either at a self-service kiosk, or at the check-in counters. There is no charge to check in at the airport. Check-in desks close at different times depending on the airport and route.

All economy passengers can take one piece of hand luggage that weights up to 8 kilograms and is no bigger than 55 cm x 40 cm x 23 cm. Business passengers can take two carry-on items, with the same weight and size restrictions. All passengers can take one additional personal item, such as a laptop or a small handbag.

The free checked luggage allowance varies depending on the route, travel class, loyalty scheme status, and other factors; you can find the exact allowances with your ticket information.
