Why Fly With Brussel Airlines

Check In

You can check in for most Brussels Airlines flights online or via the airline’s mobile app; online check-in is available starting 24 hours before your flight and it ends 1 hour before your scheduled departure time. It’s also possible to check in at the airport for free, and some African cities have city offices where you can check in to avoid queuing at the airport. You can print your boarding pass from a computer or phone, or you may present a mobile version of your boarding pass at selected airports. Free printing is available at airports that don’t have mobile scanners.

Luggage Allowances

Baggage allowances for Brussels Airlines flights depend on route, class of travel, loyalty program status, and other factors, but most passengers are entitled to a free checked baggage allowance.

Economy class passengers flying to or from Canada, or the United States, can take 1 piece of cabin baggage onboard plus 1 small accessory, such as a handbag or laptop (with a total weight of less than 12 kilograms). The free checked allowance is for 1 bag weighing up to 23 kilograms. Business passengers can take 2 pieces of cabin baggage plus a small accessory (with a total combined weight of 16 kilograms) and 1 checked bag weighing up to 32 kilograms.

Travellers flying within Europe or to Morocco, Israel, or Armenia can take 1 bag and 1 accessory weighing up to 12 kilograms onto the aircraft. There is an exception for business travellers, who are allowed 2 pieces of hand luggage and 1 accessory with a total combined weight of 16 kilograms. There isn’t a free checked allowance for Check & Go fares. You can pre-pay for 23 kilograms for 15 EUR or 32 kilograms for 30 EUR; the prices are higher at the airport, with fees of 35 EUR and 70 EUR respectively. Light & Relax and Flex & Fast fares have an included checked limit of one 23-kilogram bag, and Bizz & Class passengers can check in one bag that weighs up to 32 kilograms.

Seat Selection and Size

Seats can be selected free of charge upon check-in on Brussels Airlines flights. Economy seats on a long-haul flight have a seat pitch of between 81.30 centimetres and 86.4 centimetres. On a short-haul journey, economy seats offer a pitch of 76.20 centimetres. Business travelers enjoy a seat pitch of between 106.70 centimetres and 114.30 centimetres on all flights.

Additional Fees and Charges

Booking fees are applied to some fares when credit card or PayPal is the method of payment. These fees vary, depending on the country the flight is departing from. There are no booking fees for flights departing from Canada or the US, but if your flight leaves from Belgium, Germany, or Finland, there’s a flat-rate fee of 8 EUR per passenger for using a credit card or PayPal. The booking fee from the UK is 4.50 GBP per passenger and the fee from Switzerland is 11 CHF per passenger.
