Why Fly with ANA

ANA Mileage Club

All Nippon Airways offers the ANA Mileage Club loyalty program, which enables you to earn and redeem points with ANA and affiliates. Sign up online and start earning miles on international travel and domestic flights within Japan. As a member of Star Air Alliance, All Nippon Airlines offers you the opportunity to earn and redeem on flights with other alliance airlines, as well as with partners in the hospitality and car rental industries.

Once you have earned enough miles, you can redeem for flights, seat upgrades, extra baggage allowance, and more. As part of a growing philanthropic effort by the airline, ANA also offers you the option to donate miles to support relief efforts for natural disasters within Japan.

In addition to the Mileage Club, All Nippon Airways offers the Premium program for luxury travel. Premium points are separate from miles, and are earned within each calendar year to determine Bronze, Platinum, or Diamond status. Benefits of the premium program include lounge access, seat upgrades, reservation priority, and other privileges with ANA and associates.

Check In, Seat Reservations, and Upgrade Options

In addition to the standard online check in, All Nippon Airways also offers an automatic check in option for stress-free travel. Up to 24 hours before your departure, you can register for automatic check in by providing your email address and passport information. You will then be sent a digital boarding pass 24 hours prior to your flight, which you can print at home and bring with you to the airport.

If you prefer not to use the automatic service, you can still check in online 24 hours to 75 minutes before your flight, or at the airport service desk up to 45 minutes before departure.

For all tiers of travel, you can make a seat request when booking your reservation without any additional fees. Economy class offers comfortable reclining seats, while premium economy offers a wider seat with more legroom and a footrest. Business class features the ANA business cradle, a secluded space with fully flat seats for maximum comfort. Finally, All Nippon Airways offers the first class option, a private cubicle boasting the height of in-flight comfort and personal space.

Baggage Allowance and Overweight Luggage Fees

A ticket with All Nippon Airways includes one free piece of carry-on luggage up to 10kg, as well as personal items such as purses, umbrellas, and laptops. For most international flights, ANA also offers two free checked bags for passengers in economy and premium economy, each weighing up to 23 kg. Passengers in business class receive two bags up to 32kg, while tickets in first class include three bags up to 32kg. While these allowances are standard for ANA international flights, some exceptions may apply based on destination and type of aircraft. Before you fly, double check the lower right hand corner of your ticket, which will specify baggage allowance for your particular flight.

Excess baggage fees apply for any additional bags you may wish to check, or for any included bags that exceed weight limits. Overweight bags on flights between North America and Japan typically incur between $60-$200 in charges, depending upon weight and final destination. While ANA includes some free checked luggage with a standard ticket, that baggage allowance may not apply to all partner airlines. If you are travelling on a connecting flight, be sure to check the allowances of other airlines to avoid unexpected charges for your luggage.

In-Flight Entertainment, Standard Meals, and Fine Dining

All Nippon Airways prides itself on providing comfort and entertainment across all tiers of travel. If you are travelling in economy or premium economy, individual touch screen TVs, universal laptop power ports, and USB ports are all included with your seat. A variety of self-serve snacks are available on board, with meals served in traditional Japanese and international flavors.

Business and first class offer light meals available any time, and full meals designed by award winning chefs. A selection of fine beverages is presented by trained sommelier, bringing you an experience that redefines air travel dining.

Wi-Fi is available on board most B777 and B767 aircrafts, enabling you to enjoy use of your smartphone, tablet, or laptop. Paid plans vary according to time, ranging from $4.95 USD for 30 minutes to $19.95 USD for the full flight plan. Although fees are time based, a maximum data limit is included.

If you are travelling with children, kid friendly entertainment in the form of music, TV, and games can be found on your screen, and dietary restrictions can be accommodated by request.

Infant and Child Fares and Unaccompanied Minors

Children are welcome on board All Nippon Airways, with discounted rates dependent upon the age of your child and your destination. Infants under two years old who travel on your lap are eligible for infant fare, typically 10% of the applicable adult fare. If you would prefer for your infant to have their own seat, you also have the option to pay the slightly higher child fare. Between the ages of two and eleven, children are required to sit in an individual seat, typically priced at 75% of the adult rate. Infant and child discounts may vary slightly depending upon route and availability.

Those between the ages of five and eleven can travel as unaccompanied minors. Once you have filled out the required consent form, an ANA guardian will meet you and your child at the airport and escort them through the flight process. Adult fares apply to those travelling as unaccompanied minors.

Travelling with Pets

You are welcome to bring your pet with you on ANA flights, as long as it is in good health and properly documented. Animals are transported in the cargo section of the plane, so be aware of any temperature or respiratory conditions of your pet. Short nosed dogs in particular are at increased risk of respiratory challenges, and certain breeds are prohibited to travel in some areas. Check with your destination country as to the requirements of international travel, as some airports may not accept your pet as baggage.

There are a limited number of animals allowed on each flight, so book well in advance when travelling with pets. You cannot book online for this service, so you must contact an ANA representative to make a reservation. For flights travelling from North America to Japan, the price for each cage is typically $400, with exceptions based on weight and destination.
