Orlando International Airport Terminal Information
Orlando International is one large terminal divided into two sections, side A and side B. Four separate gate areas are connected to the terminal by an airport train service. Your departing flight could be on either side A or B, just check the departure boards on Level 3 of the Main Terminal. After you check-in and go through security, you just hop on the train to your assigned gate. Upon your return to Orlando, you'll find baggage claim on Level 2 and ground transportation on Level 1. Parking is available outside of side A and B. Eateries, shops, ATMs and currency exchanges are found throughout the airport.
Orlando International is about 19 kilometres from the Orlando city centre. Driving to the airport is an option, but parking runs anywhere from $13.00 CAD per day for economy to $22.00 CAD per day in the garage next to Level 3 at the terminal. A taxi can run you from $18.00 CAD to $90.00 CAD depending on your location, while a shuttle charges from $20.00 CAD to $30.00 CAD per person for the same distance.
New York Airports Information
The four airports serving the New York area are Newark, John F. Kennedy, La Guardia and Stewart International.
- Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is technically in Newark, New Jersey, but is only about 22 kilometres from Manhattan. It has three terminals placed around a circular access road. Domestic flights arrive at either Terminal A or Terminal B. If you are flying on United or United Express, you'll arrive in United's dedicated Terminal C. Chances are you won't opt for a rental car in New York, driving and parking are difficult and expensive. The AirTrain runs from the airport to Penn Station in New York, takes about 45 minutes and costs around $16.00 CAD. Taxis into New York City can run between $65.00 CAD and $95.00 CAD.>/li>
- John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is about 25 kilometres from Manhattan. With eight terminals and 70 airlines using them, this is one of the busiest airports in the nation. Domestic flights usually arrive at Terminals 1 through 5. JFK also uses the AirTrain to get to New York at a similar cost to Newark. A taxi ride into Manhattan will run you $68.00 CAD plus a surcharge during commute hours.
- La Guardia International Airport (LGA) is only 14 kilometres from Manhattan. It has four terminals. Domestic flights usually arrive at Terminal C and Terminal D. Practical Information for Flights from Orlando to New York
Since you are travelling from one state to another in the United States, there is no need for a visa or passport to make the trip. Passengers must still show a valid ID to fly domestically, whether it's a passport, driver's license or another form of government-issued picture ID. If you are a foreign national and have no government-issued ID from the United States, you will need to show your passport. Canadians may also use their provincial driver's license as ID.
