Pegasus Airlines is a Turkish low-cost airline with bases at several Turkish airports. It began as a charter airline in 1989 when two businesses partnered with Aer Lingus. In 2005, Pegasus changed from a charter airline to a low-cost carrier and is now Turkey's most-established airline. The airline runs its own flight academy offering training to its own crew. Pegasus flies to 105 destinations around Europe and the Middle East including Berlin, Volgograd, Dubai, and Kiev.

Check-in and Seating

Pegasus offers online check-ins and self-serve kiosks as well as desk check-in. It is recommended that passengers arrive at the airport at least two hours before scheduled flight departure. Check-in services close 30 minutes before domestic flights, and 45 minutes before international flights. Passengers must present a valid passport and relevant travel documents at check-in. Online check-in is available from 72 hours prior to flight departure. Self-serve kiosks are only for passengers travelling without luggage on specified routes. Check-in fees vary depending on airport and destination. Groups wishing to be seated together should also check in together. Pre-paid seat selections can be made at the time of ticket purchase or after. Selected seats must be paid for or the reservations will be cancelled. Pre-paid seat selections are non-refundable. Fees are variable depending on which type of seat is chosen.


Domestic flights have free checked baggage allowances which vary depending on the ticket class. International flights have a fee for checked baggage, and extra baggage allowances can be purchased online or at the gate. One bag of hand luggage is allowed free of charge provided its weight does not exceed 8 kg. Coats, scarves, umbrellas, and laptops may be carried on free of charge. Fees apply for transporting sports equipment or other large pieces of luggage.

On-board Services and Punctuality

Pegasus Air offers paid catering services through Pegasus Cafe. Meals may be ordered through the website up to 24 hours before departure. Any meal cancellations made after the 24-hour deadline will not be refunded. Pets, including cats, dogs, and birds, can be brought on board domestic flights. Pets travelling to an EU country must have a pet passport. Pegasus is a very punctual airline, with an average of upwards of 85% of flights departing on time. Improved punctuality is a stated company goal towards which they are continuously working.
