TAROM flights & tickets

Tarom is Romania's national airline. It provides domestic service between nine Romanian airports, as well as international service to forty-eight airports across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Tarom is based at Henri Coanda International Airport, the major airport in Romania's capital city of Bucharest.

Because Tarom does not fly to North America, Canadian travelers wishing to book a Tarom flight should first fly to Europe with one of Tarom's code-share partners. The most popular routes arrive in Bucharest via Amsterdam (on KLM), Vienna (on Austrian Airlines) or Paris (on Air France).

Why Fly Tarom

How to Check In on Tarom

Tarom offers complimentary online and airport check-in services. Online check-in opens 30 hours before the flight's scheduled departure and closes one hour before the departure time. Airport check-in counters typically open three hours before international flights and two hours before domestic flights, with check-in services closing forty-five minutes before the flight is scheduled to depart.

Baggage Allowance and Fees on Tarom

Tarom's cabin baggage allowance depends on the type of plane you are flying, and will be confirmed at the time of your booking. On larger flights, carry-on bags must not exceed 55x 40x 20 cm, while smaller flights limit carry-on bags to 35x 30 x 20 cm. Additionally, passengers can bring on a small personal item, like a laptop computer, briefcase or purse.

Checked baggage allowances depend on the class of ticket booked and the traveler's destination. Most economy flights begin with one free checked bag weighing no more than 23 kilograms, while business class travelers can usually check three bags of the same size. Prices for extra checked bags start at €50 ($75 CAD).

Choosing the Best Seats on Tarom

Complimentary seat selection is available for all flights on Tarom. Initial seat selection can be made at the time of booking, and you can revise your selection when you check-in if there are more available seats on your flight. Most economy class seats on Tarom have a seat pitch between 30" and 32", and seats with extra leg room can be reserved for an additional charge during the booking process (if available). Passengers requiring more leg room should consider booking a seat in Tarom's comfortable business class.

Booking Fees on Tarom

Tarom does not charge fees to book online or through one of their approved travel agencies. However, passengers who pay with a Canadian credit card may be charged an exchange fee by the Canadian bank who issued their card; this fee is not collected by Tarom.

Tarom Loyalty Programs

Tarom is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance, through which it operates in partnership with major airlines including KLM, Aeroflot, Air France and Austrian Airlines. Passengers traveling on Tarom can collect Flying Blue miles, which can then be redeemed for flights on SkyTeam's twenty member airlines.
