Phuket International Airport sits about 32 km from the center of Phuket. It served over 15.1 million passengers in 2016, marking a nearly 18-percent increase over the previous year. With high volumes of tourists coming through the airport, it can get very busy. The airport has two terminals, and flights to Bangkok from Phuket will depart from Terminal 2, which is used for domestic flights. On-site parking is available for up to 366 vehicles at hourly or daily rates. While waiting for flights to depart, travellers can enjoy relaxing treatments at the Foot Massage & Spa, located on the second floor in Terminal 1. This airport is the main hub for several airlines, including Orient Thai Airlines, Thai Airways International, and Bangkok Airways. It houses a single terminal, and more than 45 million passengers on average have come through it per year since it opened in 2006. Nearly half of those annual passengers take domestic flights. On the fourth floor near concourses C and D, travellers will find recreation areas. The airport also has more than 25 dining locations, convenience stores, a coffee shop, and two ice cream shops.

Don Mueang International Airport

This airport is the oldest in Asia, with the first commercial flights arriving and departing in 1924. It has two terminals, and Phuket to Bangkok flights arrive at Terminal 2. The majority of shopping offered in the airport is in the duty-free section, which includes perfume, cosmetics, local products, liquor, tobacco, Thai silk, and more. Transportation via taxi from Don Mueang International Airport to the city requires a small airport surcharge along with the cost of tolls. Busses 554, 555, and 29 also offer service to central Bangkok.
