Malaysia Airlines flights & tickets

Malaysia Airlines is the flag carrying airline of Malaysia, offering both domestic and international flights for travelers looking to explore Southeast Asia. Established in 1972, Malaysian Airlines has grown to a fleet of 75 aircraft, including 54 from Boeing and 24 from Airbus. From their headquarters in Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) and secondary hubs in Penang (PEN), Kuching (KCH), and Kota Kinabalu (BKI), Malasia Airlines launches flights to 57 destinations throughout Asia, Oceania, and Europe.

Malaysia Airlines' subsidiaries include MASwings (for rural air services in east Malaysia) and Firefly (for smaller domestic and international flights). It also has codeshare agreements with over 30 different airlines, including American Airlines, China Airlines, Korean Air, KLM, and more. Some of their most popular flight routes include Kuala Lumpur to Sydney, and Kuala Lumpur to Tokyo.

Why Fly Malaysia Airlines

Check In

You can check-in with Malaysia Airlines online up to 48 hours before your flight leaves. Once you do, you'll receive an electronic boarding pass that can be printed out or simply displayed on your mobile device at the airport. You can also check in at a self-serve kiosk in the airport, or by telephone if you are flying in first or business class.

Baggage Allowance and Fees

Baggage limits vary depending on whether you are flying Economy (30kg), Business (40kg), or First Class (50kg). You can check an unlimited number of bags for free, as long as your total weight is less than the stated limit. Enrich and oneworld Alliance members can check more bags, with the weight limit going up depending on the level of your rewards program (Platinum, Gold, Silver, Emerald, or Sapphire). For extra bags, you will be charged a fee per kg that varies depending on which country you're traveling to.

Seating

Malaysia Airlines flights mainly consist of Business and Economy class seats, but some international long-haul flights also offer First Class seating. Children under 12 are not allowed in Business or First Class. Enrich rewards members and members of oneworld Alliance are given priority for pre-reserved seating, but you can also purchase your preferred seat in advance when booking online. Fees range from $7 CAD to $45 CAD, depending on the flight zone and type of seat. Seats can also be chosen at check-in, but there is no guarantee you'll get the seat you choose if you go this route.

Frequent Flyer & Loyalty Programs

Malaysia Airlines offers a frequent flyer rewards program called Enrich, which gives bonuses to travelers who fly with Malaysia Airlines, oneworld Alliance, or Enrich partner airlines. You can also earn rewards points with your credit card spending. An Enrich blue card is free and allows you to start collecting Enrich miles. The more points you collect in a calendar year, the more privileges you will earn, like preferred seating or extended baggage allowances. After 25 000 Enrich miles in a calendar year, you'll be upgraded to Enrich Silver. 50 000 miles will bump you up to Enrich Gold, and you'll reach Enrich Platinum after 100 000 miles in a year.

Booking Fees

There are no additional booking fees for Malaysia Airlines flights. However, regular transaction fees still apply.
