About Kargo Xpress

Founded in 2011, Iceland’s Wow Air offers affordable travel opportunities to 38 destinations across North America, Europe, and Asia. If you are travelling from Canada, you can enjoy a direct flight to the airline’s hub in Reykjavik with the option to depart from either Toronto’s Pearson International Airport or Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport.

As well as offering some of the most affordable flights to Iceland and Europe, Wow Air’s prides itself on punctuality. Awarded Iceland’s most punctual airline, Wow boasts a 90% punctuality rate and only 10% delays.

As a new airline, Wow Air also flies one of the youngest fleets in the world, with an average age of 2.9 years for each aircraft. Airbus 320, 321, and 330 are the most popular crafts, with Airbus 320neo and 321neo as recent additions to the fleet. The narrow body craft are comfortable for the medium to long haul flights, while the wide body 330 is the most spacious option for budget travel on Wow Air

You can also receive promo codes with WOW Club, which entitle to you further discounts on your travel. To redeem a promo code, visit the booking engine and enter the code at the beginning of the booking process. If you are redeeming a gift voucher, proceed through the booking engine as you normally would until you reach the payment page, then enter your voucher code. If your voucher is worth more than the value of the flight, the remaining balance will stay with you. However, WOW gift vouchers often come with an expiry date, so be sure to check so you don’t miss out on great deals. For most WOW Air flights, the cheapest travel dates are December through May.

With Wow Air, online check in from any airport opens 24 hours before and closes 1 hour prior to your scheduled departure. You have the option to print your boarding pass at home, or to receive a digital version emailed to your mobile device, which will then be scanned at the airport.

The airport check in desk is open from 3 hours to 45 minutes before departure for all airports except San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. If you are departing from one of these cities, the desk will close 60 minutes before your flight leaves, so ensure extra time when planning your airport visit.

Once you have checked in, you can no longer change your flight or choose a seat assignment. You still have the option to add baggage, but this must be done through the WCI-portal, and cannot be done through the My Booking page.

In line with Wow’s budget premise, all seat reservations come with a fee that varies according to where you would like to sit. Standard seats come with a pitch of 29-31 inches, while XL and XXL legroom seats pitch 32-33 and 35+ inches respectively. Extra legroom seats come with an additional seat reservation fee.

After making your booking, you can reserve a seat online in the My Booking page, or at the check in desk at a higher rate. Wow Air does not guarantee seat reservations – if you have made a reservation and your seat is changed, they will try to assign you a seat of equal or greater value, but this may mean that those travelling as a group could be separated. If you choose not to reserve a seat, Wow will assign you a standard seat upon check in.

Wow Air offers three tiers of ticket, and each comes with a different baggage allowance. The cheapest option is Wow Basic – one ticket, one personal item up to 10 kg, and no cancellation refund unless you purchase additional cancellation protection. The next step up is Wow Plus – ticket, personal item, one carry on up to 12 kg, one checked bag up to 20 kg, and seat reservation with standard leg room, but no cancellation refunds without protection. Wow Biz includes the same baggage as Wow Plus, but with cancellation protection, legroom, priority boarding and an in-flight meal.

Any additional baggage can be added on the My Booking page for an additional fee. A typical carry-on bag will cost $51.99 for one leg of your flight, if booked online before check in. A checked bag will cost $62.99. Make sure to add baggage before you check in to get the cheapest rate, as costs increase significantly for bags added after check in or at the gate.

Unless you choose to book Wow Biz, there are no complimentary snacks or meals provided. You can pre-book a meal with your seat, with prices ranging from $14.99 to $17.99. Snacks are also available for purchase on board from the in-flight menu. If you are looking to stay affordable on long haul flights, you are welcome to bring your own food as long as it is cleared for international travel.

With the exception of the inflight magazine, there is no organized entertainment provided on board Wow flights. Particularly for those travelling with children, it is recommended that you bring activities and entertainment material. There is a universal plug available under all seats on the A321 and A330 aircraft, so you can charge laptops and mobile devices if you would like to work or watch pre-downloaded content during your flight.

If you are travelling with an infant two years of age or younger, Wow Air offers discounted rates that vary depending on your destination. You may bring one small bag of maximum 42x32x25 cm or one stroller without charge. Only one of these items is free, for any additional items extra charges apply.

Standard seat rates apply for any children over the age of two. Everyone on board must have a valid passport regardless of age.

Unaccompanied minors are welcome on board Wow Air, depending upon your child’s age and the flight destination. Children between the ages of 5 and 11 can fly unaccompanied on direct flights to and from Iceland, provided you have noted their minor status in the booking and provided proper documentation. A Wow Air representative will supervise your child in the airport and on board the flight, until they are reunited with a guardian at the arrival airport. Children 12 to 17 can travel unaccompanied on direct flights without these special provisions, although you are welcome to pay for supervision if you would prefer. Children 15 and under cannot fly unaccompanied on connecting flights.

There are no pets allowed on board Wow Air flights. Service animals are welcome, and no weight restrictions, charges, or cage requirements apply. You must contact customer service about any service animals at least 48 hours before prior to departure.

For international travel, it is up to you to ensure that your service animal is cleared to enter your destination country. You must also contact MAST, the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority, in order for your animal to be able to travel on Wow Air flights.
