What to Expect When Arriving at London Heathrow
The London Heathrow Airport is 27km west from central London, and travelling there can take up to an hour by car. Taxis, known as Black Cabs, can be caught from Platforms 2 to 5. Taking one to the city's centre will cost around £45-£70. There are also plenty of car rental places on-site. However, the quickest way into London is by the Heathrow Express. This train runs every 15 minutes from Platforms 3 and 5, and will take you to Paddington Station in roughly 12-15 minutes. There are also subway stations at every platform, leading onto London Underground's Piccadilly Line.
