How to Get the Cheapest Flights
There are a few strategies to use in order to get the best flight prices, including finding even more flight deals under $100!
The best way is to be flexible! Be flexible with your destination and search “Everywhere,” and be flexible with your dates and search “Whole Month.” Heading to a few cities? Try flying in and out of different airports!
Once you know where you want to go, the next step is to set a price alert to get notified if the price changes. This will help you figure out if you should book right now or if you should wait to see what happens to the price.
We make finding cheap flight deals easy. Use these tips to help you find even more deals on Skyscanner:
1. Use the ‘Whole Month‘ Search Tool
Having flexible departure and return dates is one of the absolute best ways to save money while travelling. Pick the month you want to travel, and we will show you the best days to fly within that month – all on an easy-to-compare calendar and chart on the Skyscanner site.
Some destinations aren’t always budget-friendly but this is an easy way to find those flight deals under $100 when they come up!
Want to use this travel hack for cheap flights? Check out our guide to the month search tool for desktop computers and laptops or how to use the month search tool for the mobile app.
2. Set up Price Alerts for the best time to book flights
If you’re not feeling the price of your desired itinerary, make sure to set up a price alert. By signing up, we will notify you of any price decreases or increases!
We will email you when there is a change in the price of the flight you selected, so you can book your trip when you’re ready. The price alert option means you can stop checking the prices, and let the cheap flights and flight deals under $100 come to your inbox!
Check out our step-by-step guide to setting up Skyscanner price alerts.
3. Do a Multi-Destination Flight Search
Did you know you don’t have to fly in and out of the same airport? You can land in one city and fly out of a totally different one! If you’re exploring a country from north to south, you don’t have to waste time making it back to the northern city because you can fly out of the southern one.
Similarly, you don’t even have to fly in and out of the same country. Do you plan on backpacking across Europe? You’ll never have to backtrack on your trip with the multi-destination flight search, which will save you time and money.
Check out our guide on how to use the multi-destination search tool so you can explore more countries for less money!
4. Try an ‘Everywhere’ Destination Search
If you want to get the most inspiration for your next trip, we can search for deals around the world for you! Simply enter your specific departure location and enter “everywhere” in the destination field. We will then find the best flight deals to anywhere in the world, organized from cheapest to most expensive flight.
Find out how to use the Skyscanner “Everywhere” search feature. It’s a super easy way to find inspiration for your next trip, especially flight deals under $100!
Travelling Abroad? What About Your Passport?
As a Canadian, when you travel domestically in Canada, you don’t actually need a passport. One original piece of valid (not expired) government-issued photo ID that includes name, date of birth and gender.
If you’re planning on travelling internationally, you definitely need to have your Canadian passport! It typically needs to be valid for six months after your trip date. Some countries only require it to be valid for three months before the expiry date, but always check before taking that risk.
Don’t rely on that expiry date, always make sure it is valid for six months beforehand. A good tip is to always check your passport expiry date as soon as you want to book a flight. Don’t worry though – if your passport needs to be renewed, check out our guide to the Canadian passport renewal process.
Always on the go? Never miss another flight deal again with the Skyscanner Mobile App.👇🏽
