Cheap Flights from Ghana

Kotuku International Airport (KIA), in the coastal town of Accra, is the major departure point from the African country of Ghana. Four regional airports are found throughout the country, all with at least one carrier that connects to Kotuku. Skyscanner can help you book a flight from these smaller airports to Kotuku and then on to your international destination. While you're at it, take a look at available hotels and cars for that dream trip.

  • To use the Skyscanner To Everywhere feature for your Ghana departure, just load your travel date and relevant passenger information and hit the search button. This feature is handy if you don't have a definite destination in mind. Another option is to use the Route Map where you can see various destinations all at once.
  • The Whole Month Search program lets you pull up an entire month's worth of airfare rates. If you know where you're going and are flexible with your dates, this helps you find the best deal.

  • In the mood for some pomp and circumstance? Board that flight to London and watch the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace. Visit the Tower of London and get a glimpse of the Crown Jewels. Set your watch to Big Ben as you stroll along the River Thames.
  • The excitement of Times Square, the iconic Statue of Liberty, New York pizza and all the shopping outlets you could hope for await you in the Big Apple. Stroll along the harbour to admire Lady Liberty or hop on a ferry to Ellis Island to get an even closer look at this National Monument.
  • The Pyramids of Giza are roughly 18 kilometres from the center of Cairo and just as much of a mystery today as they were in centuries past. Built some 4,500 years ago, they, along with the Sphinx, have survived centuries of weathering, tomb raiding and archaeological exploration. These ancient wonders are a great excuse to visit Egypt.

How to Get to the Ghana Airports

The Kotuku International Airport is 38 kilometres from downtown Accra, a 48-minute journey, traffic permitting.

  • Accra is on the eastern end of the Coastal Plain district and driving from Accra and the surrounding area is feasible. If you are more centrally located, flying from a regional airport, such as Sunyani (NYI) or Kumasi (KMS) is the wiser choice.
  • Short-term and long-term parking are available in the regular Car Park 3 and the Priority Lot 4. Payment is made in GHS, or the Ghana Cedi. Prices begin with $4.00 GHS at Car Park 3 to $5.00 GHS at the Priority Lot for the first hour. Both lots charge an additional $1.00 per hour for up to five hours. Long-term lots both charge $50.00 GHS per day.
  • Metered taxi services charge $10.00 GHS for the first kilometre and 0.10 GHS per 100 metres. Public pool taxis allow you to bargain before you ride, so you know exactly what you'll pay.
