Japan Airports

Whether you're travelling for business or pleasure, you'll most likely depart from one of Japan's three busiest airports: Haneda Airport, Narita International Airport, or Kansai International Airport.

Haneda Airport (HND)

Haneda Airport is located approximately 14.5 kilometres from central Tokyo. It serves 75 million passengers annually out of its three passenger terminals (Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the international terminal). Haneda Airport primarily handles domestic flights and serves as a major hub for All Nippon Airways (ANA), Japan Airlines, and Skymark Airlines. Getting to Narita Airport from the city centre can take anywhere from 90 minutes to two hours by bus or train, depending on traffic.

Narita International Airport (NRT)

Narita International Airport is the country's largest air facility and a major hub for several Japanese airlines, including Air Asia Japan, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Jetstar Japan, and Nippon Cargo Airlines. The airport has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Both terminals serve domestic, international, and American airlines. Getting to the airport from Tokyo's metropolitan area takes around 30 minutes via the Skyliner. There are also several express buses that run regularly to the airport from Kyoto, Mount Fuji, Niigata, Nikki, and Toyama.

Kansai International Airport (KIX)

Located on a manmade island in Osaka Bay, Kansai International Airport primarily serves the greater Osaka area. The airport handles flights from dozens of major airlines, including Delta Air Lines, Hawaiian Airlines, and United Airlines. Kansai International Airport is comprised of two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Both terminals serve domestic and international flights. The airport is easily accessible by taxi, train, or express ferry.
