Why Fly Volaris

Check-in and Baggage

Volaris offers online and mobile check-in for both domestic and international flights. It is recommended that domestic passengers check in two hours prior to departure, and international passengers should check in 3 hours in advance of the departure time. Baggage tags can be printed at home. Baggage policies vary depending on the route and type of aircraft. Extra baggage can be carried for an additional fee. Fees for extra baggage can be paid at the time of booking or upon arrival at the airport, but the cost will always be less if it is purchased in advance. Oversize fees will be charged for any baggage weighing over 55 lbs, and no luggage weighing more than 99 lbs will be accepted.

Seat Selection and Services

Seats can be booked in advance or at the airport, but it will always cost less if booked in advance. The seats are quite close together, but front row seats and seats with extra legroom can be booked, as can regular seats or seats at the back of the plane, which are cheaper. Additional services like pet carriage and attention for unaccompanied minors or seniors can also be purchased in advance. Snacks and drinks are available on board the aircraft.

Volaris has a sustainability model based on five components blending environmental responsibility with taking care of people and vulnerable groups. The model works towards a goal of generating a positive impact on society and the communities in which Volaris operates. The airline's carbon offset program allows passengers to contribute to a fund used to benefit the Ecological Reserve of Sierra Gorda in Queretaro. The program helps to reduce Volaris' environmental footprint as well as bringing an environmental awareness to the passengers.
