Inside: Munich Airport
All flights to London leave from the Munich Airport, which is one of the busiest and top-rated airports in Europe. If you are flying with Lufthansa you will fly out of Terminal 2, whereas most other airlines operate out of Terminal 1. Unlike many airports, Munich Airport offers a host of shopping and dining options before you even pass through security. The Munich Airport Center is a shopping, dining, and recreational facility that connects the two terminals. There is also an observation tower in Terminal 2 that is free of charge, a Visitors Park with interactive exhibits about the airport which is really popular with families, and a Bicycle Tour that goes around the airport grounds.
Landing in London
Which airport you land at in London depends on who you are flying with. British Airways and Lufthansa arrive exclusively at Heathrow, while Eurowings uses London-Stansted. Only easyJet flies to more than one London airport, with flights from Munich currently arriving at London-Gatwick, London-Luton, and London-Stansted. There are rail links to London city centre at all four airports, with only London-Heathrow offering direct access to the London Underground. Taking a taxi is also an option, although a pricey one if flying to an airport that is quite far from the city, such as Gatwick or Stansted. You can also rent a car to get around, which is especially convenient if you plan to spend time outside of the city itself.
