A rather small island in the Lesser Antilles, a group of islands in the Pacific Ocean, Barbados is a popular tourist attraction and hosts a lot of visitors for its size. Aside from holiday visitors, Barbados has also become a destination for real estate speculators, naturalists, artists, and scuba enthusiasts. It has two airports, but only one of them has flights to international destinations. Your trip from Barbados will be leaving from Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI) in the city of Christchurch. If you are arriving from one of the other islands nearby, such as Martinique or Saint Lucia, your journey will likely stop over for a connection here. The airport was previously divided into two terminals, and it still in as far as arrivals and departures go, but ongoing changes are putting everything under one roof.

If you’re waiting on a stopover, check out the British Airways Concorde Museum. Formerly the Spencer Plantation, the museum is actually on the airport grounds. You can see a relic of this important global event in an unlikely place. Two retired Concorde aircraft are on permanent display along with a series of related exhibits called the Concorde Experience. These are not just any aircraft. One carried Queen Elizabeth the Second from London to Barbados during her Silver Jubilee in 1977.
