Terminal Information for Noi Bai International Airport

All passengers on domestic flights to Ho Chi Minh City from Hanoi depart from Terminal 1 at Noi Bai Airport. The airport is 45 km north of Hanoi's city centre. Departing passengers can take bus route number 7 or 17 from Hanoi city centre to the airport, although the journey time is a lengthy 90 minutes. A new number 86 express bus route opened recently that takes passengers from Hanoi city centre to the airport in just under an hour, with eight stops along the way. Tan Son Nhat International is Vietnam's busiest airport. Passengers arriving from Hanoi disembark from the aircraft at Terminal 1, which is the airport's domestic terminal. The airport is just six km north of Ho Chi Minh City's centre, which is known as District 1. The airport has just one runway, which means passengers should expect delays upon landing, as traffic congestion is frequent and expected. Passengers who aren't citizens of Vietnam should use their passport as their chosen form of identification when flying domestically in Vietnam. Passengers should arrive at Noi Bai Airport no later than 90 minutes before departure. Given the distance between Hanoi's city centre and the airport, this might mean an early start for the earliest flights.
