Toronto Airport
Toronto Pearson International Airport is located in Mississauga, 18 miles outside of downtown Toronto. While it is the biggest and busiest airport of Canada, ceiling signs, not to mention ever-present friendly staff make the building very easy to navigate.
For the hungry, the airport has several restaurants, ranging from a three-course meal to a sandwich or a tray of sushi. For the thirsty, there are juice bars and coffee shops that serve snacks. In terms of services the airport houses several banks and cash machines, clothing, shoes and book stores, convenience stores, hair salons, manicure and pedicure salons, liquor stores, souvenir places, gyms and several lounges to relax.
To get from the airport to your hotel, you can take the UP express train which leaves every 15 minutes, a Greyhound bus, a MiWay bus, a GO transit bus, or a TTC bus. For a more comfortable ride, there are taxis and limousines outside the arrivals hall. Or if you prefer, you can arrange for private transportation with Skyscanner’s car rental.
Tips for Traveling to Toronto
Very few tourists visit Toronto in winter. Not only is there a high chance of snow and ice, it can get bitterly cold so warm gear is essential. During spring and fall, the city enjoys mild temperatures but with a good chance of rain. June to October is the perfect time to visit.
Be sure to book a hotel room well in advance. Toronto welcomed over 40 million people in 2015 and while there are plenty of hotels in the city, it’s advisable to make a reservation.
