Departing from Barcelona

Barcelona Airport (BCN) is a clean, modern airport with a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and amenities to keep you busy while you wait for your flight. Free wi-fi is available (with no time limit!) as well as multiple charging stations for all of your devices. Treat yourself to a spa treatment or haircut in either of the two terminals, or head to one of the airport lounges to catch up on some work, grab a bite to eat, and relax.

Long-term parking is available at Barcelona Airport for $30.75/day for the first 4 days, and $23.50 for each day after. There is a free shuttle service that runs every 15 minutes from the long term parking area to the terminal entrances. To be safe, plan on an extra 30 minutes to park, catch the shuttle, and walk to the check-in desk.

Arriving in Vancouver

After landing at the airport, follow the signs to collect your baggage and move through Canadian customs. The airport is about 15km from the city center, so you should be able to reach your hotel by rental car within 30-45 minutes (with traffic). You'll find a car rental desk just outside the terminal entrance, on the ground floor of the parkade. National, Alamo, Hertz, Dollar Thrifty, avis, Zipcar, and Budget are all present at the airport, so if you book a car ahead of time with Skyscanner it will be waiting for you when you arrive!

Taxis are also available just outside the exit (about $35 to downtown), or you can hop on the Canada Line train for a quick ride to Vancouver's major metro stations downtown.

Practical Information

Plan on arriving at the airport at least 3 hours before your flight departs so you have enough time to check in, move through security, and find your gate. After landing in Canada, make sure you've filled out your declaration card correctly to avoid any delays with Canadian customs.
