Best Time to Fly to Slovenia 

The best time to visit Slovenia is between June and August. Summertime is High Season and everywhere is buzzing with activity. You'll find crowds at the tourist attractions and along the sunny coastline. Hotels can also fill up quickly, so book your stay far in advance. 

From November to March, Slovenia experiences its Low Season. Some tourist venues run on limited schedules, or even close completely. However, December is the prime month for going alpine skiing. Christmas and New Year's Eve also bring in the crowds.  

Airports in Slovenia 

For Canadian travellers, who are staying less than 90 days, visas are usually not required. Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU) is Slovenia's main international airport. Located 24 km northwest of the capital city, this airport is the central hub for Adria Airways. Ljubljana Airport, almost exclusively, offers flights to destinations within Europe.
