CanJet flights & tickets

Transportation across a whole hemisphere can be complex and highly competitive, as the saga of CanJet Airlines tells us. The airline began as a low-cost regional carrier on the East Coast in 1999 and went through several partnerships and incarnations before ceasing operations in 2015. The aircraft fleet was fairly substantial, composed of several Boeing 737s, equipped for national and regional flights.

CanJet previously had partnerships and shared routes with other now defunct Canadian airline companies like Harmony and Canada 3000. The aim of the company was to pick up the slack in regions that low cost carriers like Westjet and regional competitors like Air Canada Jazz didn't service. When this tactic failed economically, the company turned to another marketing strategy: running private charter services. In 2014, vacation packages were added to the roster, but only a year later the company officially folded due to low demand in this market as well.
