The city of Edinburgh loves Christmas so much they put on a six-week festival to celebrate the holidays. Family-friendly activities include a Ferris wheel, merry-go-round, outdoor skating rink, fun rides, and of course one of the best Christmas markets in Europe.

Another Christmas tradition in Edinburgh is the Hogmanay, which is a three day New Year celebration. Things start off with a torchlight procession on the 30th, there’s a street party and fireworks show on the 31st, with final celebrations on the 1st.
