Medellin is serviced by two airports, Olaya Herrera Airport (EOH) and José María Córdova International Airport Airport (MDE), which is located less than an hour away in the nearby city of Rionegro. Your flight from Bogota will most likely land in EOH, which exclusively handles domestic flights. MDE, the second busiest airport after BOG in Bogota, is dominated by the bigger national carrier Viva Colombia. There is a chance that your flight from Bogota will land here if it’s with one of the big airlines, so be sure to double-check your destination if you need to arrange for pickup or accommodation upon arrival.
