Osaka Kansai International Airport Information
Osaka Kansai International Airport (KIX) is located on an island in Osaka Bay, about 50 km from central Osaka. Peach uses KIX's Terminal 2 and all other airlines share the main terminal, Terminal 1.
The two terminals are separated by KIX Sora Park. You can walk through the park or take a free shuttle bus to connect between the two terminals. KIX Sora Park is a beautiful, environmentally friendly park, with a large green space, walking paths lined with sakura cherry trees and flower beds, and streetlights powered by wind and solar energy. The park also includes a large body of water which is used for the Dragon Boat Festival each year in August.
Taxi stands are available outside of arrivals for both short distance and long distance trips. To get to central Osaka via taxi will take between 50 and 60 minutes and cost around $200 CAD. Different nearby towns such as Namba and Kyoto can easily be accessed by bus or by train. The rental car center is located in the Aeroplaza, about a three-minute walk from Terminal 1. You can also access it via a free shuttle bus. Five rental car companies have service counters in the Aeroplaza, including Nippon Rent-A-Car and Orix Rent-A-Car Japan.
What to Expect in Osaka
There is no time difference between Tokyo and Osaka, so you won't need to worry about jet lag. Price-wise, Tokyo's meal and entertainment costs are slightly higher.
