It’s was a sweet little cabin. Clean and comfortable for the most part. Sparsely furnished. Folks running it were very friendly and helpful. It is very dated. Some of the updates don’t exactly fit but they are making a good effort to make it as nice as possible. The location is good between Banff and Canmore.

I think the proper spelling for chalets here is shacks. Or maybe it was just ours. Really old, light switch by the door about six feet high. The only place I’ve stayed where I could have washed my hands in the sink whilst sitting on the toilet. We had been planning to camp so thankfully had a thick cushion which we put on top of the mattress our 2nd night so we could sleep better. It was definitely better than camping and quite cute. Just very basic and rustic. Insubstantial curtains. We were thankful to find a place that didn’t bankrupt us. Anywhere away from the parks the smallest unit (ours) would go for less than $100 CN but things are expensive here.

Not squalor

Not hunting cabin but close
In defence, we just came from a cabin , slightly larger, that we rated 11/10. It was outstanding in all aspects so of course comparing and deeply let down.
Property itself is kind of nice. Spacious and treed
Cabins are well spaced. All lights, furnace, locks and taps work. Newish linoleum
Step is sagging, door has not been painted in years, dusty window sills, curtains flimsy, old and sagging, no reading lights or bedside lights. Dark knotty pine walls and ceilings. Just plain very tired. Will not return. Good for hostel travellers.

First impressions not great. Needs painting outside and brightening up inside - not all painted brown to blend in with the wood. Cosy once fire plugged in. Tv good. Bed 7/10. Overpriced definitely.

The cabins are likely 50 years old. The mattress was not comfortable, there was no hot water in the bathroom sink. No heat or a/c and paint was peeling on every building.
Ee stayed there as the reviews were good...the place was not. So overpriced for what you get.
