Fort Lauderdale International is a huge airport with four terminals. Flights from Canada usually land in terminals 2, 3, or 4, depending on the airline. Those three terminals offer very limited food and shopping options pre-security, although once you reach airside you will have many options to choose from, ranging from fast food stands to more healthy and local meals. Be advised that if you are catching a connecting flight and need to change terminals then you will most likely have to pick up your bag and clear security again.
