Arriving at the Airport
Fukuoka Airport consists of two terminals, one for domestic flights and one for international operations. The domestic terminal is split into three buildings and the international terminal is split into four levels. If you fly from within Japan, you will arrive at the domestic terminal's Building 3. There are bus stops and a taxi rank located just outside of arrivals. In Building 2, you will find a subway station which links the airport to downtown Fukuoka, located about 3 km away.
If you fly in from an international location, you will find yourself on the second floor of the building, where you will go through immigration then proceed to the first floor for baggage claim. Bus stops and taxi ranks are available outside of international arrivals. If you'd like to take the subway, a free shuttle bus will connect you to the domestic terminal. If you'd prefer to have your own transportation, both terminals have information booths near arrivals with representatives from six car rental companies.
