Broward County Transit bus Route 1 is the cheapest way to get to downtown Fort Lauderdale. It stops outside of the car rental building. A free shuttle also stops at the lower level of all the terminals and will take you to the Tri-Rail commuter station, from where you can catch a train south to Miami or north to West Palm Beach. Numerous taxis also operate at the airport and they are a quick and easy way to get around. Airport Facilities
Fort Lauderdale International is a huge airport with four terminals. Flights from Canada usually land in terminals 2, 3, or 4, depending on the airline. Those three terminals offer very limited food and shopping options pre-security, although once you reach airside you will have many options to choose from, ranging from fast food stands to more healthy and local meals. Be advised that if you are catching a connecting flight and need to change terminals then you will most likely have to pick up your bag and clear security again. Free WiFi is available throughout and ATMs and currency exchanges are plentiful as well. There is a viewing area on top of the Hibiscus Garage as well as live musical talent performing at various times in all four terminals, featuring local talent.
