Also, during the summer months the airport has a problem with mosquitos, so bring repellant. On the bright side, there is plenty of comfortable seating and the airport is usually less crowded than what you would find in the United States or even Canada.

Landing at Mexico City Juarez International

Mexico City Juarez International is one of the world's busiest airports, and also notorious for being one of the worst. Long constrained by its location in a dense urban area, the airport has well exceeded its capacity, and its existing terminals, some of which were built as temporary facilities, are showing their age. While a new airport is currently under construction that promises to address these issues, for the time being, travellers to Mexico City have to make do with Juarez International. If flying with Aeromexico or Aeromar, you will luckily land at the new Terminal 2, which is fairly easy to navigate. Most other flights arrive at Terminal 1. The two terminals are far from one another and you will need to take the bus or train to transfer between them. To transfer using the train you will need to present an onward boarding pass. There is a metro station at Terminal 1 that makes getting around the city easy. Otherwise, taking a bus, renting a car, or hiring a cab are your best bets for getting to the city centre.

While Juarez International may not make a great first impression, don't let that sour you on Mexico City itself. The country's capital is home to a staggering number of attractions, including more museums than any other city in the world, such as the world-class Museum of Anthropology. There is also the pre-Colombian site of Teotihuacan, containing some of the largest ancient pyramids on the planet, as well as La Catedral, the largest cathedral in the Americas.
