Flight Information

There are two main airlines that fly nonstop from New York City to Calgary. Air Canada provides a flight out of Newark International Airport while WestJet flies nonstop from John F. Kennedy International Airport. These two airlines also provide other flights to Calgary from New York, but they aren't nonstop, often needing long layovers in Toronto or Montreal.

Delta, United Airlines, and American Airlines each provide flights from New York to Calgary as well, but they have layovers all over the United States, including in Denver, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

New York Airports Information

John F. Kennedy International Airport

JFK is known as one of the busiest passenger terminals in the world, so it's best to arrive three hours before your flight. All WestJet flights leave from Terminal 4, which is accessible by the AirTrain or taxi. The AirTrain can be easily accessed through the New York subway system via the J and E lines at the Sutphin Blvd stop in Queens or via the A line at the Howard Beach stop, also in Queens. Delta flies out of Terminal 4 as well unless connecting within the States, in which case it departs out of Terminal 2.

Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark Airport, while located in New Jersey, is a popular airport for New York because of its smaller crowds. Air Canada's nonstop flights operate out of Newark Airport at Terminal A, which is accessible via NJ Transit, Amtrak, or PATH. Terminal A has classic American fare such as Dunkin' Donuts and Jersey Mike's as well as more international cuisine at Currito Cantina and Manchu Wok.

LaGuardia Airport

While it doesn't provide any nonstop New York to Calgary flights, LaGuardia still provides some cheap alternatives to other airlines if you're willing to sit through a layover. Most layovers from LGA happen in Toronto, but it's not uncommon to fly through Chicago or Montreal. LaGuardia isn't accessible via the New York subway, but it's the closest airport to Manhattan, meaning that reaching the airport via taxi or bus is the easiest of the three airports.

Terminal Information for Calgary International Airport

All international flights arrive at Terminals D and E in the international terminal building. There are multiple play areas in Terminal D for children to burn off some energy after a long flight before following the signs to the baggage carousels on the Arrivals Level.
