Just stopped for breakfast

On our way from Karimabad, we stopped at Gilgit and took breakfast at Park Hotel. The value for money was good. The parathas were excellent and omelette fluffy as anything.
We inquired generally about the room rates which were Rs.4,000/ night for double bed without AC and Rs.6,000/ night with AC. And it gets pretty warm in Gilgit so ACs are a given!

Not my first choice

The Park hotel has nice looks from the outside and a decent lobby with lots of wood paneling which makes it rather pleasant.
The rooms are not so nice; dark affairs with windows not showing the spectacular surrounding mountains. Toilets are of the crouching type, good to know.

one of the biggest hotel in gilgit

this hotel seems to be one of the biggest hotel in gilgit. Very near from the airport and a public park.
The hotel is big with good parking and lawn.
We stayed in a suite room with 3 beds and sitting area- The room was large enough to accomodate a family of 5.
There was no air conditioner in the room but there was a room cooler in the suite room.
The room was decent enough for gilgit standard. The staff was courteous and service was quick. The food was good. Over all it was a satisfying stay, considering the gilgit standards.

Not the choice for families

Rooms are a bit spacious but need serious maintenance and upkeep. Stayed there with family in April 2019. There were issues of power and hot water. The place has a nice garden but that does not make it a good choice given the condition of bedrooms and restrooms. Not recommended at all.

Nice location, Yum food, Big rooms, and Courteous staff

Though we stayed here for just one night, however we did enjoy our time here. We booked a family rooms with 4 beds that was enough to settle 7 of us (including 3 kids). Am just amazed by the taste of food here (like the chowmein was better than many chinese restaurants in Islamabad) :) The location is very convienent in terms of the airport (just 5 mins in car). There is a huge dry fruits market across the road and then the famous NLI market of Gilgit is also 15 mins by car.
