Russian Roulette !

BEWARE !!!!!
Having just returned from a 10 day stay at seashells, I can honestly say it is the worst place I have ever stayed in. The apartments are basic to say the least. Two tiny drawers in a dresser which offer very little storage, a wardrobe not wide enough for a coat hanger so your clothes have to be squished in on an angle. The main light fitting is hanging 8 inches out of the ceiling by two wires in a small connector block, and this sways when the aircon is on. The light fitting by the front door is not much better and is hanging from the ceiling. The shower head rail has rusted off its bottom wall mount, and is swinging about and has very sharp edges. The shower hose is also very rusted. The showers are very small and there is very little room to move.
The kitchenette ( if you can call it that ) had no cups / mugs , we had to buy our own, it had two bowls, one teaspoon, no other cutlery, and the couple of glasses in the wall cupboard looked like they had been sand blasted.
The beds are rickety wooden framed beds very low to the ground, and they creak whenever you move. Credit where credit is due, the aircon is very good.
Now we come to the balcony. These have an alluminium handrail to the front. Our friends were staying in room 1. Our friend got up early to photograph the sunrise, and had her back to the handrail, she leant back on it and the handrail gave way. This resulted in her falling backwards with the handrail over 3ft onto concrete. This resulted in a head injury, extensive bruising, stitches and a CT scan. This totally ruined everyone's holiday. The brackets that support the handrail to the balcony have all eroded extensively over time , and instead of being replaced they have been bodged with some kind of filler. They need to be replaced immediately for everyone's safety. This incident could quite easily have resulted in a broken spine or worse. You do not expect to go on holiday and your balcony handrail fail due to poor maintenance. Any body who stays in these apartments need to be wary of the handrails, and general poor maintenance of the building. It is quite obvious that spending money on its upkeep and general repair is not high on the priority list.

Traditional greek accommodation at an excellent price

Just what you expect from basic Greek self-catering, comfortable and clean and an abundance of towels. Host was friendly. Location is central to bars and restaurants but being one street back you are not disturbed by the hustle and bustle and due to the excellent quality shutters and balcony doors you get a good peaceful nights sleep.

Great location

We have stayed in many apartments on Greek islands in the past including others in Argassi. The Seashell studios consist of ten rooms all with their own private bathroom and kitchen area, they all have balconies with fantastic sea views. Air cons are also fitted to every room. The rooms are basic so don't expect all mod cons. These studios are great if you are on a budget.
There is no extra charge for the Sea view, air con, fridge, safe or the sun beds unlike other places in Argassi who will charge you around €35 for each of these items per week. The Studios are run by Maria & Roula a lovely Greek Mother & Daughter, who can not do enough to help you. If you want 5 stars go somewhere else and pay for it. These studios are traditional Greek and are lovely. We have already booked to go back next year.

Great location but in desperate need of revamp

Just came home today from staying at the Seashell, I will start with the positive great location good size room friendly owners, comfy bed.
This was as cheap trip but wasn’t expecting it to be so basic. We originally booked 1 room for 3 people I didn’t change the booking but our room only had 2 single beds, but thankfully we had booked a second room, not sure where my daughter would of slept if we hadn’t. Our girls were given a room but just for one night but had to change on day 2, Maria the owner had explained about a family wedding which was fine and not a huge inconvenience but not ideal. The little things you come to expect like hand soap in the bathroom isn’t included. The shower you have to hold as no holder on the wall so you can wash using 2 hands. Our bathroom was full of mosquitoes and even though we closed the door I’m bitten really badly. In my daughters room their bathroom door didn’t even close, the safes don’t work ( although Maria did get her tools out to try and fix it but wasn’t able to) also the toilet in our doors room had a crack in it which leaked and left their room often smelling of urine.
We tried to sit outside on the sun beds but not nice when there is cat poo on the grass. Not a fan of owners smoking in snack bar area either.
With all the faults mentioned if these apartments had some money spent on them and a freshen up they could be amazing, great location, I wasn’t expecting 4* for the price I paid probably not even 3 but a little too basic but doesn’t have to be. I hope you continue in seashells.
