Outstanding Accomidations

There are many amazing hostels in the area but this one stands out as my favorite along our trip through the area. The rooms are very spacious and clean with more blankets than I could count. The staff is incredibly friendly and considerate. They had a fire going in the rec room with strings up to help dry our clothes. The breakfast and dinner were very delicious and filling. This is the best place to stay before your final leg of the Quilotoa loop. I wish I had more time to tour the cheese factory in the area!

Trekking the Quilotoa Loop

Beautiful location in the pueblito of Chugchilan. Comfortable accommodations, excellent food, clean, with rustic amenities. Exceptional staff. They go above and beyond for the guests. Laundry services were an added bonus after several days of travel.

Hostal for happy hikers

Patricia and Jose look after everyone, especially tired hikers. If you've hiked the Quilotoa Loop, you will have seen their excellent red & yellow trail signs along the way. Jose knows all the trail routes and quirks, and is happy to provide recommendations based on weather and trail conditions.
The location is easy, and it's a large facility with plenty of rooms, including a games room.

Great stay at cloud forest hostel. The absolute highlight is the owner and staff who are helpful, friendly and flexible. The hostel is located in an area perfect for hiking which is fully supported by the hostel: they provide travel tips, maps etc. Furthermore, the included breakfast and dinner are of great quality (esp. considering the price).
