Arriving at the Airport

When you arrive at San Antonio Airport, you will proceed to the terminal's lower level to find your baggage. Here, you will also find multiple ground transportation links. Taxis are available curbside and cost about $35 CAD for a ride to downtown San Antonio. Uber, Lyft, and Get Me rideshare programs are also all permitted to pick up at the airport.

At the west end of Terminal B, you'll find a VIA Metropolitan Transit bus stop. Bus route 5 stops at the airport and will get you downtown in about a half hour. Since the ride only costs about $2 CAD, this is definitely the most inexpensive option. However, if you'd prefer a little flexibility, or are visiting cities outside of San Antonio, renting a car is your best bet. Car rental companies like Alamo and Enterprise are located in Terminal A.

In terms of both square footage and passenger traffic, San Antonio Airport is considered to be medium-sized. Airport Ambassadors, easily recognizable in their cowboy hats, roam the airport to answer any questions you may have. Food and shopping are available in both terminals. On the official airport website, you will find coupons that can be used at various stores and restaurants.

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport. ATMs, shoe shine, and interfaith chapels are also available. At baggage claim in Terminal B, there is also a private lounge area funded by the United Service Organization exclusively for military personnel and their families.

What to See and Do in San Antonio

San Antonio has two main tourist attractions. The first, River Walk, is a beautiful walking path lined with stores, restaurants and bars, and gorgeous scenery. Many restaurants on the River Walk have live music performances as well as a gorgeous view of the San Antonio River. You can follow the pathways on foot or take a boat tour.

The second most popular tourist attraction in the city is The Alamo, a museum which sits on the site of the 1836 Battle of the Alamo. Admission to the historic museum is free but you can also book a guided tour for about $20 CAD per person or an audio tour for about $10 CAD per person.
