Osaka Airport and Airline Options

You'll have two airport options with flying to Osaka: Kansai International Airport (KIX) and Osaka International Airport (ITM), also known as Itami Airport.

Kansai Airport is Osaka's main airport, flying to both domestic and international destinations. The airport consists of two terminals, separated by a beautiful green space. There is a free shuttle bus that connects the two terminals, or you can choose to walk through the park. Peach uses KIX's Terminal 2 exclusively and all other airlines share Terminal 1. The airport is a hub for the following airlines:

Airlines at Itami Airport currently only fly to and from destinations within Japan. The airport consists of one terminal divided into a North Terminal and a South Terminal. Like KIX, ITM is also a hub for All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines. Amakusa Airlines is the only other carrier operating at ITM.

Arriving at the Airport

Kansai International Airport is located on Osaka Bay. The airport is connected to the shore by a toll bridge, two rail lines, and by public transit. A taxi from the airport to central Osaka will take about an hour and cost around $200 CAD. You can also take a high-speed ferry to reach the mainland. However, the ferry only goes to Awaji Island and to Kobe Airport (UKB).

You will be able to reach central Osaka more quickly from Itami Airport. As the airport is connected to the Hanshin Expressway, a taxi ride into Osaka will only take about a half hour. ITM is also connected to the Osaka Monorail, which makes stops in Osaka and the surrounding area.
