Upscale Hotels

Most of Key West's hotels are lavish, upscale facilities with every amenity under the sun. The Marker Key West and Pier House Resort & Spa are two 4-star marvels in that category. Breathtaking to behold, The Marker Key West is a magnificent facility, surrounded by palm trees and hosting a lush garden, outdoor pool, and sophisticated guestrooms with private balconies. Cero Bodega, their on-site Cal-Mex restaurant, serves up delicious dishes all day long. Meanwhile, Pier House Resort & Spa is equally extravagant. This hotel opens directly onto the beach, plus it has a luxury spa, an outdoor pool, and four on-site restaurant and cocktail bars.

Mid-Range Hotels

Mid-range hotels in Key West are typically in the $175 to $225 per night range. Two of the best hotels in this category are 24 North Hotel | Key West (4-star) and Hilton Garden Inn Key West / The Keys Collection (3-star). Sitting on the shoreline, 24 North Hotel | Key West offers wonderful amenities for the whole family. On-site, you'll find a massive outdoor pool with a hot tub, encircled by lounge chairs and outdoor games. For dining and refreshments, there's a Starbucks Coffee, a poolside bar, and the Toasted Coconut, which is a casual kid-friendly bistro. Wifi and on-site parking are both free here.

Built in 2016, Hilton Garden Inn Key West / The Keys Collection is a shiny, new addition to Key West's beachfront. With 100% non-smoking facilities, this elegant hotel hosts a gourmet restaurant, a poolside tiki bar, and well-appointed guestrooms and suites. For your entertainment needs, there's bicycle rentals, an outdoor pool, and even sightseeing tours.

Budget Hotels

Even the motels in Key West can reach up to $200 per night, but we found two top-rated options in the $75 to $150 range: Seashell Motel (2-star) and El Patio Motel (2-star). Doubling as an international hostel, Seashell Motel appeals more to the Millennial demographic with its bunk beds, shared sleeping areas, and bright décor. If you don't mind "roughing it" a bit, this motel provides very affordable accommodations, often for less than $100 per night. There's a 24-hour shared kitchen, vending machines on-site, and the rooms are cleaned every day. The in-room wifi is also free.

Meanwhile, El Patio Motel is a quaint Key West motel with old-school charm and a beautiful garden at its centre.  There's also an outdoor pool for swimming and suntanning. The tropical-themed guestrooms are quite very clean and hold televisions, fridges, and cozy queen-size beds with 70s-style duvets covered in palm trees. Wifi is free too.
