Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport (CFE) is a small airport serving the city of Clermont-Ferrand, France. Located about 6km from the city, CFE is the main airport for the Auvergne region in central France. Despite its small size, it operates regular flights to and from Paris, Amsterdam, and Porto.

There is also a train station located a 5 minute walk from the airport. Line 6 will take you to the city centre in 10 minutes and costs only $2 CAD a ride.

Clermont-Ferrand is a quirky university city located near the volcanic Chaîne des Puys mountains in central France. The volcanic landscape surrounding the city has played a huge role in its development. In fact, Clermont-Ferrand's most famous landmark, the staggering Clermont-Ferrand Cathedral, is built entirely out of lava stone! Just north of the city, you can even visit Vulcania, a volcano-themed amusement park with a museum and interactive shows.

While you're visiting the Auvergne area, be sure to take a train or hike to the summit at Puy-de-Dome!
