Montreal-Trudeau International Airport is one of Canada's busiest airports and has undergone a number of renovations and expansions in recent years. However, all flights depart from one large terminal that is divided into different sections serving domestic, U.S., and international flights. In the domestic departures area you will find an array of boutiques, bars, cafes, and restaurants. If you are connecting in Montreal to Ottawa from abroad you will also find a currency exchange in the domestic departures area where you can buy Canadian dollars. When travelling from Montreal to Ottawa it is a good idea to arrive at the airport at least 90 minutes before departure. Keep in mind that security clearance may be delayed during peak travel times, typically during the early morning and mid-afternoon. Also, traffic along the major highways heading to the airport are often slow during rush hour so schedule some extra time if you are leaving for the airport around those times. Ottawa International Airport features a newly-constructed terminal and has won accolades for its high level of passenger satisfaction. OC Transpo, Ottawa's public transit provider, operates an express bus (route 97) that runs from the terminal to downtown throughout the day. Limousines, taxis, and shuttle services are also available. Ottawa is also an easy city to drive around in and renting a car from one of the airport's rental agencies is a good way to see the region's many attractions. While most of the main attractions, such as Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, and the Rideau Canal are within walking distance from one another in downtown, other attractions are further afield, including the Diefenbunker and Gatineau Park, and do require a car to get to.
