Puerto Princesa International Airport (PPS) is located approximately 2km from Puerto Princesa in Palawan, Philippines. At Puerto Princesa International Airport, you can enjoy the newly upgraded, modern passenger terminal. Construction was completed on the new terminal in early 2017.

Direct flights from Puerto Princesa to Manila are offered daily, multiple times per day. The following four airlines fly direct from PPS to MNL:

It is recommended that you be at the airport at least two hours before flight departure. Canadians will not need to obtain a visa to visit or fly throughout the Philippines, but you will need a valid passport.

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport Information

Located about 7km from central Manila, Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) consists of four passenger terminals. AirAsia Philippines flies into Terminal 4 and Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines and PAL Express all fly into Terminal 3.

Terminal 3 is MNL's largest terminal, complete with shopping, restaurants and transportation options including car rentals and taxis. Taxis charge flat rates to different zones around the city, with the rate to central Manila being approximately $14 CAD. Terminal 4 also has curbside taxis, but no car rental services. If you fly into Terminal 4 and need to rent a car, you can take the free airport shuttle to any of the other terminals. Public bus stops are located at Terminal 1 and 2.

What to Expect in Manila

In general the Philippines is considered to be a budget-friendly destination for Canadians to visit. It is also known as one of the coolest worldwide travel destinations for its beautiful landscapes and rich history.

Flying from Puerto Princesa to Manila, you will not be changing time zones. Hotel, meal and entertainment prices in both cities will be similar. The weather in Puerto Princesa and Manila is also very similar. The whole country has a tropical climate, with the wet season generally ranging from May to December. From June to September, there is also a possibility for typhoons. Year round, the temperatures rarely drop below 20°C in both cities, with average temperatures of 27-29°C.

For the best chance at good weather, you'll want to visit the Philippines during the dry season, from December to May. Many of Manila's major tourist attractions are outdoors, like the historical Rizal Park and the beautiful Arroceros Forest Park. If your visit falls within the wet season, you can escape the rain indoors at attractions like the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Metropolitan Museum of Manila.
