Vancouver's main international airport is Vancouver International Airport (YVR), located 12 km from Vancouver's downtown core in Richmond, British Columbia. It's a bright, spacious airport, featuring two terminals divided equally between domestic and international flights. Unfortunately, YVR doesn't offer any direct flights to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL). However, there are non-stop trips to other major cities in Mexico, including Cancún and Mexico City. These flights leave from YVR's International Terminal.

To reach Vancouver's airport, most travellers opt to drive there, either by rental car or by taxi. If you choose to take a taxi, the trip will take about 30 minutes, if traffic levels are favourable. This ride should cost you between $25 to $30. For public transportation, there's the rapid transit SkyTrain during the day, and the N10 night bus for those red eye flights into Mexico.

Guadalajara is most picturesque from October into December. During this period, there's little rainfall, the weather is sunny and warm, and festivals abound in the streets.
