Multan is known even within Pakistan for its ferociously hot summers. From April to October, temperatures regularly hit the high 30s and low 40s. These months can also produce violent dust storms. The airport is served by three Pakistani airlines: Airblue, Pakistan International Airlines, and Shaheen Air, all of which offer flights to other Pakistani cities as well as to the Middle East, particularly Saudi Arabia. Air Arabia, Emirates, Flydubai, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, and Saudia, meanwhile, offer international service, again primarily to the Middle East, especially Dubai.

What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport

Multan Airport is within Multan itself and is located just 4 km from the city centre. That means that if you are going just a short distance then a rickshaw may be a practical option and certainly the cheapest. Taxis are also plentiful and there is a counter after you exit the security area of the airport where you can book a cab. If you are comfortable with Pakistani driving conditions then renting a car may provide the most convenient way of getting around.

Multan Airport's new terminal was inaugurated in 2015 and it is a beautiful and modern facility. There are a number of different lounges catering each to business, domestic, and international passengers. Duty-free shops are available in the departures and arrivals section of the international part of the airport.
