Airlines flying from the Montreal Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to Stockholm arrive at either the Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) or the Stockholm Bromma Airport (BMA). There are no non-stops between Montreal and Stockholm. WOW Air and Icelandair both fly to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, with a stop in Keflavik Iceland. These two carriers tend to have the least expensive rates and usually shorter flight times. Other carriers, including Lufthansa and Air Canada, also fly into Arlanda but with connections in Brussels, London Heathrow or Munich. Brussels Airlines also has one-stop routes to Stockholm Bromma, usually with connections in Brussels.

Terminal Information - Departing
Stockholm bound flights leave from Montreal Elliot Trudeau's International Complex in the main terminal. Restaurants, shops, currency exchanges and ATMs are available in both pre and post-security check sections. Duty-Free shops are in the secure area as are the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge and the Air Canada VIP Lounge. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout.
Passenger drop-off is right outside the International Complex. Driving is an option, but parking is on the high side, running from $15.00 CAD per day for Economy Parking to $40.00 CAD for Valet Parking in the Main Terminal lot. A taxi ride from downtown Montreal runs about $40.00 CAD.
Terminal Information - Arriving
Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) is 43 kilometres from downtown Stockholm, usually a 35 to 50-minute car ride. The Arlanda Express, a high-speed train, makes the trip to Stockholm Central Station in about 20 minutes. Tickets, $42.00 CAD one-way, are available at kiosks throughout the terminals. The airport has four terminals, with international flights using terminals two and five. There is no terminal one. Sky City is in the center of the airport and is a passenger service area filled with shops, restaurants and services. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the airport.
Stockholm Bromma Airport (BMA) is only 10 kilometres from downtown, about a 20-minute drive. Its single terminal is easy to navigate, but there are more limited shops and services. Wi-Fi is free. Car rental desks are inside at baggage claim, while a taxi dispatcher is right outside.
Practical Information
- Canadian citizens traveling to Stockholm, Sweden, do need passports but are not required to have visas for stays of less than 90 days. Foreign nationals living in Canada must get a Schengen Zone visa from the Danish Embassy or a Consulate in Canada before travel. Applicants must appear in person.
- Passengers should arrive at the Montreal airport at least 3 hours prior to departure. Some airlines allow online check-in, but it's still best to get to the airport early, especially during the winter months.
- Local currency in Stockholm is the Swedish krona. You'll want to change some Canadian funds into krona either before you leave Montreal or at the airport in Stockholm.
