What to Expect When Arriving at the Airport
Madrid Airport has four terminals. Terminal 1, 2 and 3 are all part of the same complex, while the new Terminal 4 is far from the other three. The Madrid Airport has all of the expected comforts of a major airport, including ATMs, currency exchange offices, car rental services, left luggage storage and value-added tax (VAT) refund providers. Wireless internet and free computer access points are available throughout all four terminals. Of course, there is also excellent shopping (including famous Spanish brands like Zara and Carolina Herrera) and a range of Spanish and international dining choices.

From here, many of the city's most famous attractions are within walking distance, including Palacio Real, the Prado Museum and Parque del Retiro. To experience true Spanish culture, it is recommended that travelers take in a flamenco performance, a Real Madrid soccer game, and a dinner of world-famous Spanish wine and tapas.
