Situated on the storied Don River, which was immortalized in the novel "Quiet Flows the Don," Rostov-on-Don is a pleasant and attractive city. With Skyscanner's monthly search tool you can now uncover when is the best time of the year to fly to Rostov-on-Don from a variety of airports in Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Thanks to its southern location, Rostov-on-Don enjoys a warmer climate than what one might typically expect from a major Russian city. Summers tend to be hot, with temperatures regularly in the high 20s, and there is sunshine almost every day. What to Expect at the Airport
Despite having been modernized a little over a decade ago, the Rostov-on-Don Airport is already a crowded and less than comfortable facility. While plans are in place to build a new airport in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, there is no guarantee that that will happen in time. The current airport suffers from serious design flaws, with many travellers reporting difficulty finding the baggage claims area (it is located towards the right once you enter the arrivals area). The easiest way of getting into town is via taxi. The blue and white official taxis are located at the exit. You can also rent a car from one of the four rental car agencies located in the airport itself.
