Despite having been modernized a little over a decade ago, the Rostov-on-Don Airport is already a crowded and less than comfortable facility. While plans are in place to build a new airport in time for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, there is no guarantee that that will happen in time. The current airport suffers from serious design flaws, with many travellers reporting difficulty finding the baggage claims area (it is located towards the right once you enter the arrivals area).
