Bratislava Airport (BTS) is the main international airport in Slovakia, located about 9km northeast of Bratislava, and within an hour's drive from Vienna (Austria), Brno (Czech Republic), and Gyor (Hungary). It offers a wide variety of seasonal flights as well as domestic flights between Bratislava and many other European cities.

If you're looking for a great flight deal, the best time to fly to Slovakia is during the shoulder months of May and September, when the weather is still nice but fewer tourists visit the country. In the summer months (June, July, and August), hotel and flight prices spike while tourists flock to the country. To make sure you're getting a great flight deal, be sure to set up a price alert with Skyscanner! We'll keep an eye on flight prices and notify you when a great deal comes along.

What to Do in Bratislava

Bratislava is a beautiful city with a stunning 18th-century pedestrian-only Old Town you won't want to miss. Filled with cafes and restaurants, it is one of the smallest and most charming historical centres in Europe. Head to the beautifully restored Bratislava Castle for panoramic views of the Danube river and the city surrounding it, then walk down to St. Martin's Cathedral, one of the largest and oldest Gothic cathedrals in Slovakia.

If you just want to relax and take it all in, head to Sad Janka Kráľa park on the right bank of the river to people-watch, or Horský park in the northern part of the city for a stroll through the forest. In the summer, head to Bratislava Zoo and DinoPark for a great family excursion, or check out the Botanical Gardens of Comenius University. In the winter, be sure to stop by the Christmas Markets located in front of town hall and on the main square. You won't regret it!
