Opened in 1925, Copenhagen Airport is one of the oldest airports in the world that is still operating. That being said, it has all the comforts and amenities of any modern airport. Getting to Copenhagen from the airport is extremely easy. You can hire a taxi by hailing one just as you exit the arrivals hall. There is also a train that leaves from Terminal 3 and will get you to the Central Station. The trip takes about 12 minutes. The Copenhagen Metro also stops at Terminal 3 and takes only slightly longer than the train to get to the city centre. You can also rent a car for the duration of your stay in Copenhagen. Copenhagen is a wonderful city to spend a few days in. It has a host of things to see and do just like any large city, but retains a slightly small-town atmosphere that keeps it from feeling overwhelming. Copenhagen is famously pedestrian-friendly, with many streets in the city centre having been closed to vehicular traffic. That makes strolling its quaint neighbourhoods and window-shopping quite a lot of fun. Copenhagen is also built on the water and taking a canal cruise is a definite highlight. In the summer, the Danish capital has some excellent beaches you can go swimming at. Perhaps the city's most famous attraction is Tivoli Gardens, one of the oldest and most beautiful amusement parks in the world and it's definitely worth spending a day there.
